It is intended to assist companies/researchers in seeking appropriate finance, enter new markets and refine business development models, as well as other issues that may be encountered along a company's lifecycle.

Step 1: Where are you at?

Firstly, it is important to identify at what stage of the business lifecycle the company (or researcher) is operating in, just so that you are in a better position to identify the services/support most relevant to your business needs.

Consider your business
You are at the research stage and have identified intellectual property (IP). You may have undertaken preliminary market research and are starting to develop a business concept. You are seeking advice from commercialisation groups, research institutes and various other stakeholders.

Start-up
You are in the process of developing a prototype or lead compound and formalising the business concept. At this stage, you are also demonstrating to investors, regulatory bodies and other service organisations that the business model or idea is feasible.

Growing your business
By this stage the entity would be undertaking intensive R&D. Capital raising is underway and partnerships and alliances are being sought at different levels. The entity would also be entering into manufacturing and distribution negotiations

Improving your business
You are refining manufacturing and distribution processes and investing a significant portion of the entity's budget into R&D and various marketing activities. You are also at the stage of seeking market expansion/export opportunities.
