Autoindustries (Ethanol blended fuels and vehicle compatability)

The Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries (FCAI) is the peak industry organisation representing the automotive industry in Australia.  The website provides information on the capability of vehicles to satisfactorily operate on ethanol blended petrol (10% or E10 maximum).  

The web site also provides a list of automotive manufacturer contacts in relation to ethanol. (This weblink is not to be construed as general FCAI endorsement of ethanol blended fuels). 

Ethanol production

CSR Ethanol - one of Australia's largest producers of ethanol products.

Dalby Bio-Refinery - The Dalby Bio-Refinery will be the first new grain to ethanol plant to be built in Australia for 50 years and will be located at Dalby on Queensland's Darling Downs.  Construction of the plant commenced February 2007, with completion expected by October 2008.  The plant's ethanol production will be a minimum of 84 million litres.

Queensland Government web sites

The Queensland Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) provides a range of information about renewable fuels and energy. 

QFleet - Where possible, Queensland Government vehicles are to be fuelled with E10 as part of the Government's plan to develop the Queensland ethanol industry.  QFleet supports this initiative through its vehicle leasing and fleet management services. 

 Commonwealth Government web sites  

Hint: to find information about biofuels on these websites, type "biofuels" into the search engine located on the home page.

The Department of the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts provides a range of information on biofuels including ethanol, biodiesel and fuel quality standards. The site also provides details on Commonwealth Government biofuel grant programs. 

The Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research provides a wide variety of reports, fact sheets and other information related to biofuels. 

International (biofuels information resources)

The Renewable Fuels Association (USA) is the national trade association for the ethanol industry in the USA.   The site provides a wide range of ethanol policy, market and industry information and often features a variety of high level research reports and industry outlook data. 

BBI International specialise in organising conferences for the biofuels industry and produce a variety of international industry information about ethanol and biodiesel.
