Research-Industry Partnerships Program

The Research-Industry Partnerships Program will fund collaborative near to market research projects between industry and research organisations.

The key objective of the Research-Industry Partnerships Program is to facilitate the development of new or improved products processes and systems that will achieve a commercial return or deliver a public good within four years.

Features at a glance

  • grants are between $200,000 and $1 million over one to three years
  • funding rounds will be open, competitive and merit based
  • funding is to be matched by a cash contribution 1:1
  • projects must be collaborative, involving at least one university/research institute and one industry/private sector organisation
  • at least 25  per cent of the applicant's matched cash contribution is to be by the industry partner(s)
  • partners should have a genuine capacity to utilise the outcomes of the project
  • projects must be capable of generating economic, social, and/or environmental benefits to Queensland
  • projects must deliver regional benefits to Queensland
  • funding may be used for project consumables, salary costs for key project staff and operational overheads

Applications for funding must include:

  • a completed and signed application form
  • supporting documentation.
