Innovation Skills Fund

The Innovation Skills Fund is an investment by the Queensland Government to attract and retain top researchers and  PhD students in strategic priority areas to Queensland.  

The following programs are offered:

Smart Futures Premier's Fellowships 
The key objective of the Smart Futures Premier's Fellowships is to entice experienced and distinguished research leaders of national and international prominence to Queensland. 

Smart Futures Fellowships
The key objective of the Smart Futures Fellowships is to provide funding for outstanding early and mid career researchers to undertake innovative research in Queensland.

Smart Futures PhD Scholarships Program 
The key objective of the Smart Futures PhD Scholarships is to provide funding for outstanding, approved PhD research scholarship holders to undertake innovative research in Queensland.    

Smart Futures Commercialisation Fellowships 
The key objective of the Smart Futures Commercialisation Fellowships is to provide funding for innovation-focused researchers and entrepreneurs and venture capital fund managers to translate research, technologies and ideas into commercially viable or applicable products, processes or services in Queensland.
