Smart Futures PhD Scholarship Program

The Smart Futures PhD Scholarships provide funding for outstanding approved PhD research scholarship holders to undertake research in Queensland.

Features at a glance

  • grants of $8,000 per year for three years for holders of an approved PhD research scholarship (listed in the scheme guidelines)
  • a completion bonus of $2,000 is payable of the PhD thesis is submitted within three years and six months of commencement
  • applicants must be commencing a full-time PhD research program at a Queensland university in the next calendar year
  • research is to be novel and innovative
  • funding rounds will be open, competitive and merit-based

Applications for funding must include:

  • supporting documentation
