Queensland ICTThe Queensland Government is committed to developing the State's information, communications and technology (ICT) industry and harnessing its capabilities to deliver economic, environmental and social benefits to Queenslanders. Queensland's ICT industry contributes to the State's economy in its own right and as an enabler of competitiveness and productivity growth in other key industries, such as mining, manufacturing and tourism. A key element in the continued success of the ICT industry's development in Queensland is the close cooperation between the Queensland Government through the ICT Sectoral Development Unit, ICT industry associations and universities. In our rapidly changing world, a key success factor for Queensland's ICT industry will be its strength and diversity, particularly in relation to the skills and resources needed to address challenges and seize business opportunities which emerge in an 'always on', broadband enabled, low-carbon world.
